Fire Department

Fire Department LogoThe Fire Department consists of 36 paid on call and part time personnel. Part time personnel work 12 hour shifts on station from 6am to 6pm seven days a week. Paid on call personnel work 12 hour shifts, they respond from either home or stay on station from 6pm to 6am. All personnel are cross trained in both Fire and EMS responsibilities. The fire department also has an active cadet program currently with 5 members.

The Fire Department is always looking for township citizens interested in joining the department on a paid on call basis. Training can be provided by the Bethel Township Fire Department. Also any high school aged personnel wanting to join the cadet program can contact Lt. James Sebastion.

The Fire Department can be reach by calling 937.845.4274 for non-emergency calls.  All emergency calls should be directed to 9-1-1.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

In addition to fire suppression, the Bethel Township Fire Department also provides emergency medical services. The fire department utilizes 2 advance life support transport units and 1 advance life support engine. The Bethel Fire Department is staffed with a combination of part-time and paid on call personnel. The part-time program staffs the equipment during the hours of 6am-6pm. The paid on call personnel staff equipment during the evening hours 6pm-6am responding from either at home or staying on station.

The Department does bill health insurance companies for services. With these receipts, the Department is able to ensure the most up to date equipment is carried on the medics and that personnel have most up to date training. Fire Suppression Services

The fire-suppression fleet consists of two engines, one water tanker and one grass truck. The fire department has working mutual aid agreements with neighboring fire departments to assist in handling large incidents requiring more equipment and personnel.

Fire Inspection

The Bethel Township Fire Department also has an active fire inspection department. Inspection performed by qualified personnel enables the Township to assist with the preplanning of incidents to help reduce harm to citizens as well at department members.
