TRANSPORTATION

Interstate Highway System
In Bethel Township location is king.   US Route 40, the National Road, cuts across the southern portion of the Township traveling from east to west and provides easy access to Dayton International Airport, Interstate 75. and State Route 235. State Route 571 travels east to west along the northern portion of the Township, connecting Bethel Township with New Carlisle, Tipp City and additional access to Interstate 75. 
                                                                                                                                                                                                                        State Routes 201 and 202 travel north and south across the Township providing access to Interstate 70, State Route 41 and the City of Huber Heights.  

Air Transportation
Air travel is just minutes away, ten minutes to be exact. Travel just ten miles to find the Dayton International Airport
The Dayton International Airport (DAY) has three runways and is ranked in the top 10 in the country and top 15 in the world as a cargo airport. With regards to passengers, it ranks in the top 50 U.S. and the top 100 worldwide. Ideally located for serving both air and over-ground markets, Dayton International plans to expand it’s already outstanding capabilities as a cargo airport while continuing to provide passengers with unmatched convenience and accessibility. 

Bethel residents and business can enjoy the convenience of the Dayton International Airport without the hassle of highway travel.  Dayton International Airport is easily accessible by traveling west on US 40. 

INFRASTRUCTURE
Electric                                                                                                                                                                                                     Pioneer Electric Cooperative was formed by the people in rural Champaign, Miami and Shelby counties to provide electric service for themselves and serves portions of the Bethel Township community. The Cooperative is a private business owned by the nearly 16,500 member-owners it serves. Pioneer is committed to providing high quality and responsive service at competitive prices consistent with sound business practices.

Dayton Power and Light (DP&L) has been a proud partner with Dayton and its surrounding communities. Today, our 1,500 employees deliver electricity to more than 500,000 customers in a 6,000-square-mile area of west central Ohio, including portions of Bethel Township. DPL generates electricity at 10 power plants, mainly located along the Ohio River, and has approximately 3,750 megawatts of total generating capacity.
                                                                                                                                                                                             Telecommunications
Deregulation of Ohio’s telecommunication industry allows resident and businesses to select from a number of companies for their telecommunication needs.  However, the majority of Bethel residents receive internet service from Time Warner Cable.   

Water and Sewer
Miami County, through the office of Sanitary Engineering provides safe, reliable service to portions of Bethel Township.   Miami County offers water service to homes and businesses in and around the hamlet of Brandt (map of current water lines).  In addition, the Miami County Sanitary Engineer and the Bethel Township Board of Trustees are currently working to establish sanitary sewer services for the hamlets of Brandt (2010) and Phoneton (to be determined).

Fire Protection:  Fire Protection is offered by the Bethel Township Board of Trustees through the Bethel Township Fire Department.  The Township’s single fire station is located in the south central portion of the Township in the hamlet of Brandt.

Police Protection:  Law enforcement within Bethel Township is provided through a contract with the Miami County Sheriff.  Miami County is severed through a centralized 9-1-1 dispatching systems operated by Miami County. 

Schools: The majority of students attend Bethel Local Schools which features 1 elementary, 1 junior high and 1 high school on a central campus. Students may also attend either Miami East Local (north) or Tecumseh Local (east).
