Roads & Cemeteries
The Bethel Township Road Department is responsible for the care of the Township’s roads, public cemeteries, all Township owned buildings and Bethel’s only publicly held park, Friendship Park.
Cemetery Maintenance
The Road Department cares for all public cemeteries in the Township including Bethel West, Bethel East, West Charleston, Honeycreek and Saylor. Township personnel pour bases for headstones, mow the grass, control weeds and keep the cemeteries clean and attractive.
Road Maintenance
The Bethel Township Road Department is responsible for maintaining 26 miles of roadway. While the Miami County Engineer and Ohio Department of Transportation maintain major thoroughfares and state routes traveling through the Township, the Bethel Township Road Department is responsible for the maintenance of the following roads and alleys:

Snow & Ice Removal
The Bethel Township Road Department provides snow and ice removal on Township maintained roadways. During snow events the Road Department primary focus is to provide care to the most heavily traveled roads, as well as those with hills, curves and bridges. During these times residents are asked to ensure that roadways are clear of vehicles and other items during snow events.
Recycling Substation
Bethel Township offers residents the convenience of a recycling substation. Residents of the Township can bring junk mail, newspapers, magazines, office paper, chip board, all plastics 1-7 and aluminum & metal cans only to the Township offices located at 8735 S. Second Street in Brandt for drop-off. The Township has has contracted with Waste Management to handle our recycling needs, thus eliminating the hassle for residents. Please note that that Township cannot accept trash, pizza boxes, wax coated boxes, motor oil, paint, hazardous chemicals, tires, automotive parts, outside plastic furniture, vinyl siding, detergent boxes, clothes hangers, computers, aerosol cans, window glass, drinking glass, light bulbs, metal cookware, PVC piping, pallets, plastic toys or wood. Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (federal holidays excluded)
First Saturday of every month 8:00 am to 12:00 noon
Park Maintenance
Featuring a playground and ball field Friendship Park is located on North Second Street in the hamlet of Brandt. Residents interested in scheduling the use of the park should contact the Township offices at 937.845.8472.
