Township Recycling Center Update
Based on input from residents, Bethel Township opened a recycling station in November 2008. Many residents have taken advantage of this free service, saving them a drive to the county recycling station in Troy, as well as reducing the overal amount of trash that Bethel Township puts in a landfill.
As many of you are already aware, we have placed a new recycling dumpster in the recycling center area. The dumpster replaces the multiple wheeled collection receptacles that had previously been there. The move to the recycling dumpster was for two reasons. First, the utilization of one dumpster will prove to be more cost effective. Secondly, we hope that the recycling dumpster cuts down on the abuse that has taken place of dumping trash and not recyclables into the collection bins.
This dumpster is clearly marked for recylcing. All recyclable items should be placed in the dumpster. The dumpster will be open Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM and the first Saturday of each month from 8 AM to Noon.
